Rosemary herbs are the fresh or dried leaves of the rosemary plant (Rosmarinus officinalis / Salvia rosmarinus), a woody, evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean. Unlike rosemary essential oil (which is highly concentrated), the herb itself is used as a culinary spice, herbal tea, and traditional remedy.

Properties

  • Aroma: Fresh, herbal, camphorous.
  • Active compounds:
    • Rosmarinic acid → antioxidant, anti-inflammatory.
