Rose Oil
It’s widely used in skincare, haircare, aromatherapy, and cosmetic formulations because of its hydrating, soothing, and rejuvenating qualities.
Rose oil (cosmetic grade) is a luxurious plant oil derived from the petals of roses, most often the Damask rose (Rosa damascena) or Cabbage rose (Rosa centifolia). Unlike rose essential oil, which is steam-distilled, cosmetic-grade rose oil is usually obtained by infusing rose petals into a carrier oil (like jojoba, almond, or sunflower) — making it gentle, nourishing, and more affordable than pure essential oil.
What is Rose Oil (Cosmetic Grade)
- Made by macerating or infusing rose petals in carrier oil.
- Retains the aroma, antioxidants, and skin benefits of roses.
- Not as concentrated as rose otto (essential oil) → safer for direct skin use.
Properties
- Appearance: Light golden to pale pink oil.
- Aroma: Sweet, floral, calming.
- Texture: Lightweight, absorbs well.
- Key compounds (from rose petals + carrier):
- Vitamin C → brightening & collagen support.
- Phenolic antioxidants → anti-aging & protective.
- Geraniol, citronellol, nerol (aromatic compounds) → soothing fragrance.
