Activated Charcoal (Activated Carbon)

• A highly porous form of carbon processed to have a large surface area for adsorption (binding substances to its surface).
• Made by heating natural carbon-rich materials (like coconut shells, wood, or coal) at high temperatures, then activating with steam or certain chemicals.
• Not the same as regular charcoal → regular charcoal is just burned wood, while activated charcoal is specially processed for medical and cosmetic uses.
